Founded in 2002, Fairborn Digital Academy is a public community school and dropout prevention and recovery program serving students in grades 9 through 12 from Fairborn and surrounding districts.
In an effort to re-engage students, FDA provides a flexible learning model that combines online coursework with in-person class time and dedicated work with accountability coaches with individualized learning plans, tutoring support, and access to current technology.
“A traditional high school environment does not work for every student,” said Erik Tritsch, Executive Director of Fairborn Digital Academy. “We focus on helping students identify what they need to succeed, whether that is flexibility, additional support, or a smaller setting. Graduation is a major accomplishment, and we are proud of what these students have worked through to get here.”
FDA has earned an overall rating of Exceeds Standards on the Ohio State School Report Card for four consecutive years. The school also saw strong improvement in Gap Closure, which measures progress for student groups in English language arts, math, and graduation rates.
